Rose of fourteen had fallen behind in school and this has caused her to have problems with reading and writing. She feels embarrassed about this and tries to hide that she cannot read properly. When we are reading together she is doing better. In school it goes unnoticed that she is having these problems, as the teachers tend to think that everyone at that age is capable of reading. In Cameroon unfortunately this is not always the case. Rose is motivated to work hard to improve on her reading skills, as she knows that this will help her in the future. She likes hanging out with the other girls in the house and they play games and sing and dance together a lot.
